Hi Fellas,

How about a Saturday Session this weekend?

If you’re new to the forum, this is an online video session (via Google Hangouts) that allows the members of the Magician’s Forum to come together and share some of the magic that they’ve been working on.

It’s a great way to get to know other members of our community while sharpening you're skills. It’s always a great time!

For those who are able to join us, here's the link: https://goo.gl/HMKnsG

I hope to see you there!!

Rudy

I should be good to go! I might try to get a camera set up. How do I do that?

I am new here and would love to join this session. Is it ok to sit in and watch and maybe ask questions etc ?  in the first one, just to kinda meet everyone and see how it works?

Technical details depend on your computer system.  If you have a USB webcam, it could be as easy as plugging it in, then clicking the "Camera On" button within the Google Hangout screen as soon as the session starts.

A word of advice (from personal experience) - think about what's behind you!   Mike Powers has his awesome magic library behind him, JohnnyNewYork has elegant curtains, and Rudy broadcasts from what looks like a really comfortable couch in his nicely-decorated living room (and sometimes from what I guess is his magic room).

Unfortunately I didn't think of this, and treated everyone to the sight of two extremely messy shelving units, piled to the ceiling with odd bits of rubbish.

Robin,

Don't worry too much about that. I have my kitchen behind me and sometimes my wife or kids show up behind me... LOL

Or if I move to the other side of the table, you will see a piece of furniture with glasses and cups behind me.

The idea is that you are in the session.

Hi siahofmars,

Yes, it's perfectly fine to just come and watch. I believe that you'll enjoy it and want to participate next time.

See you then!

I'll try to be there too. I'll be in Milwaukee at the time. Might be a couple of surprise guests too! I'll take my Surface and maybe an external cam.

Thanks for the invite, Rudy!  Would love to share some things with you guys, but since I'm clueless technologically, I'll just be watching for now.

Sorry folks for ducking out early, my internet just isn't working right now.  I honestly think it has something to do with the rain!

Well it was a great session as always! Great effects and insight from some of the members of TMF... it just keeps getting better and better... don't miss them if you can!

And yes, I think the weather had something to do with the technical difficulties some of us had during the session. So sorry about that Chi Han!

Hello everyone! I definitely agree with Luigimar on this session — in fact, for me it was like having a private lessaon from some top flight pros — thanks to EVERYONE for some very insightful tips that are very much appreciated! Rudy, as always, is certainly a very encouraging host to ALL participants — I know I’ve said this before, but these sessions are loaded with information and are definitely a big “plus” on the Forum! Thanks again — johnny

Sorry guys … I missed the session!  Fell asleep after binge-watching the World Cup games.

It was a fun session! Mike Powers stopped by and had Nicolas, Sam Slaven, and David Parr with him.

I sure appreciate you JohnnyNewYork. You always bring such fun and thoughtful ideas to the table. Your willingness to share them with us, as well as your willingness to invite input, is what makes these sessions so helpful in our journey to grow as magicians.

I thank all of you who were able to join us!

Til next time,

Rudy

Rudy,  when you showed the trick you were considering for the FFFF, the sound on my computer kept cutting out.  I couldn't hear the name of it or who created it.  It was the trick where you talked about how you aren't good at math.  (I am the same way...lol)  I loved it.  You picked a good one!

Jabs,

Just in case Rudy doesn't see this. I believe it is out of Pit Hartling Little Green Lecture Notes titled "CHAOS". It at the LIBRARY as an e-book for $12. It seems like the physical book is out of stock at a few places. Great trick and Rudy did a great job performing it.
