Found out recently that my paternal roots stretch back to Scotland. My 7th great-grandfather was born there in 1717.  Does that count?

Can't claim any Scottish heritage ... but I'm a big fan of Scotch.

The book 5X5 Scotland by Peter Duffie has a great collection of effects by Scottish magicians.

Eddie McColl was here for a while, but he seems to have vanished. He knows some of the Big Hitters.

Alan,

Eddie *is* one of the Big Hitters.  In fact, he has three new downloads available at https://eddiemccoll.co.uk/.  Any one of them is well worth the money.

I’m aware of that, and although I haven’t seen them in years, I also know a few of the culprits myself.

Peter Duffie, Gordon Bruce, Peter McLanachan, Gavin Ross, Gary Middleton (an honorary Scot, I believe) and before he became an interstellar megastar, Paul Wilson. I’ve never met George Mc Bride, but we have corresponded, snail mail umpteen years ago and email about seven or eight years ago.

I knew Dave Robertson and Steve Hamilton. Steve was one of the few magicians my wife could stand!! Exaggeration, but along with our great pal, Brian Glover, she does remember him very fondly.

Back in the yesterday when there were umpteen conventions every other day we bumped into one another on a regular basis. He features in the photo album quite frequently. I saw him perform stand-up as Steve Lindsay back in ‘93 at “The Third Annual Scottish Convention Of Close-Up And Comedy Magic” (phew), organised by Paul Brignall. This in the Athens Of The North itself; Edinburgh.

Hi, Jboy.

I'm a Scottish magician - Glasgow specifically. Not a big hitter though, just a humble amateur : )

Hope you're well.

I don't know about him being Scotland, but he's definitely Scottish.
