I love Aronson's "Some People Think." The spec does all of the cutting and shuffling and most of the work. But last night I discovered a potential problem.

The odds of running into this are pretty low (about 1-in-26, I'd say[smile]). But it happened. I was practicing it being both the spec and the magician. I slipped the card back into the deck at some random location after it was squared up, as the trick calls for. But when I dealt through the deck, both streams were in order!

Nothing was out of place. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this can only happen if the spec puts the card back in such that it is somewhere in between its original prior and subsequent cards. It doesn't matter if cards from the other stream are also in between. But wouldn't that ruin the trick?

I don't see how it couldn't unless I'm missing something. What am I missing?
