Excellent example of the "good stuff" that appeared in all 20 years of APOCALYPSE!!!  Thanks, Paul.

Interesting isn't it?  No one has asked if that was done with a regular, borrowed, deck. No one has asked for the exact issue of APOCAYPSSE that appeared in.  Interesting. How many people in magic now are interested in learning, doing, the '"good stuff"?

Some of us have just looked it up, wonderful, thanks to all. Love you HL and PG, I've always enjoyed your work and always done my best to buy directly from you (wasn't always possible, I go way back).

I don't recall offhand but a quick peek at the index will tell you. Cheers, PG

A Japanese magic dealer recently asked me about the rights for translating all 20 years of APOCALYPSE into Japanese to sell only in Japan. Un-fortunately it ended up costing much to much for him to do it.  I assume many Japanese-speaking people are very disappointed!

I just re-read this thread.   Don't know why but it just reminded me of a "vignette" that happened a year or so ago. A vignette that I'd call "getting credit where credit is undue."

Friends were visiting, friends who brought a couple of new friends with them. One of those new friends said he was a fan of mine, then took a deck of cards out of his pocket and asked if I'd do something for them

I took the deck and did what I most often do when handed  deck, and I want to do my HaLo Aces.  I spread through the deck asking "This is a full deck, right?"  As I do Cull Down, culling the four aces to top.   (Originally in Apocalypse, by Doc Valles.) I do a couple overhand injog shuffles, flip the deck face up and do my HaLo Aces.

And here's what I've never forgotten. The guy who gave me the deck says - I'm paraphrasing, of course -  "That is the most amazing thing I've ever seen - most amazing because I'm pretty sure I know exactly what you did -  I've read some of your books, Harry."  I say, "You do? You know what I did?"

"Of course, had to be - you counted where the aces were as you spread the deck face up. You remembered the four positions. Then - you did the best false shuffle - had to be - of a full deck I've ever seen. And then, and this is most amazing, you were able to cut to those four positions to 'get' the aces.  Just amazing!"  He raved on a bit more.

And I said something like - "Wow! You're the first person who ever figured it all out!!"

Mr. Lorayne,

this is the first time I address to you, so, one of my greatest honour in my amateur card magic life.

Let me tell you that you are blessed with your native language as any native English speakers, since practically everybody in the world that can go to school study some English.

I mean that any Japanese people that were (really, really) interested in APOCALYPSE, will make a effort with their English to get to read it!

My best wishes!
