What a cool thing this is!  Very versatile effect.  You can use it for a reveal or just move things about and freak people out.

Being as it is a laser, the method must involve invisible cats...

?? Looks just like using a laser light as a presentational tool for thread effects.

Yup, have seen all these before, have even performed some of them.  I am not sure if this is an add or what, but this guy just added a laser (for performance value) to existing effects.

I thought the same thing, but then John posted this over at the Genii Forum: "I have received some inquiries about whether there is a second gimmick or something is palmed or set up in advance. The answer is NO. Everything is self contained in the laser pointer. You just bring it out of your pocket and you're ready to perform. There's no advance preparation."

Personally, I am skeptical. After reading what he posted I thought, "Air?", but that made no sense in context to a couple of the demonstrated effects. We shall see...

And I just realized it’s John Kennedy so it is bound to be cool. But I’ve seen and done some of this before, the pen in the glass I used to sell, I can’t remember if that was a Kennedy effect or not. I have a few ideas, but we will see.

I think AV is on the right track.  The effects aren't what is new here, the invention is the fact that "the work" is all in one place and that place is somewhat beyond suspicion so long as they believe it is a simple laser pointer.
The shape of the pointer is somewhat atypical.  Most pointers today look more like pens.  But I do have an old pointer that came with an LCD projector that was rectangular in shape.  So maybe it is reasonable to expect the audience to accept it as "normal".
