Since it's more impossible than ever to get a Triple Threat from Lassen, is there any alternative?

I/M, the Jamie Schoolcraft 3CM gimmick is basically the same item.  There are some differences, but essentially the same concept.  I hate to repeat stuff I haven't verified, but it seems that it is easier to get your hands on a 3CM gimmick as compared to the Triple Threat.  Todd Lassen is extremely busy and I presume he has what amounts to a waiting list.  I would also assume that he responds to previous purchasers before new customers as well.

There are undoubtedly other people making these.  I don't know if the same people making the steel Morgans on the internet make these or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.  But like anything else, you get what you pay for and a Schoolcraft or Lassen set will be the best you can get.  A recent price I saw for a 3CM gaff in soft Morgans was $450.00 USD.

I’ve been a customer of Todd since he was still friends with Bob Koehler. My last order with him sat for 15 months and he never delivered, even though I paid for it twice. He no longer takes orders, but produces a few of whatever interests him at the time and announces via email. They sell out, generally, in 5 minutes and never longer than 10 minutes. It’s a great model for him, but worthless for anyone needing certain items. His business, his choice.

Jamie still produces most, but not all, of his catalog. Coins are superb and delivery reliable.

Bob Swadling’s coins sold by Mark Mason are the best deals on the market, but Bob is over 80, so it won’t last forever.

I’ve never dealt with Roy Kueppers. Seems to have many supporters and detractors. I know he recently moved to las vegas from Canada.

That’s the market as I know it.

I have experience with all those coin makers:

1. Todd Lassen is a waste of time.  He will just take your money.  He had a commercial site for a small amount of time where he taught someone else to make a few gimmicks and they were complete trash.  I regretted ever buying anything from that commercial site.  The best coin gaffs I have that Todd Lassen made were ones I purchased second hand.
2. Jamie Schoolcraft gaffs are just as good as Todd Lassen (although more expensive). Turn around time is long but reliable. Todd Lassen doesn't want to admit that Schoolcraft gaffs are as good as his.  They actually may be better.  His Deans set is a dream come true.  Well worth it.
3. Mark Mason is the best person to deal with.  He's so quick, reliable, and a great guy.  I favor his service over all the others.  His new flipper coin is light years beyond any one else.  Well worth the investment.
4. Roy Kueppers REEKS!  Stay away from this guy!!!!  He is HORRIBLE. The worst customer service.  He took forever to send me the coins I purchased, then he got the order wrong because he can't bother to read simple English.  He gave me a hard time about it too.  I will never purchase anything else from him again.  I purchased multiple gaffs. His shell wasn't half as good as the other coin makers and his flipper coin was Meh compared to Mark Mason or Jamie Schoolcraft. Needless to say, I was not impressed at all.  Save yourself the headache.

I make triple threats out of replica Morgans. The cost is $90 plus postage. They sold out at both the Vegas SAM convention and Blackpool. Let me know if you are interested.
If you are looking for silver then Ron Davies is your man. Great service great reputation and craftsmanship equal to anyone.

Just an FYI: It seems likely Todd will be doing another run of BU Morgan triple threats in the next week(s?), so you may want to keep a close eye on his blog.  It's hard to predict how many he plans to make, but it sounds like you'd have a good chance of getting one. The new Mark Tams TT book is likely one reason Mr. Lassen is kicking off this new build.

In any case, stick with Lassen and you'll get a real TT, made by the credited inventor of the gaff.
