I wanted to learn/perform/teach an effect in Apocalypse Now that I learned from Apocalypse Magazine called “Queens Tour” by Hippie Torrales. The problem is that I couldn’t get it to look good. I’m not familiar with the variation of the Elmsey count used (by Jonathan Townsend) and I’m not really confident at copping cards.

Here’s a variation that I came up with...

I’d love to have one of you take up the challenge to learn this and send me the video. Maybe you can make a guest appearance on Apocalypse Now!

I like it Rudy. Your variation to eliminate the cop is good thinking. Fellow magi might see a hint of it coming but I'm telling you laypeople will be clueless. Your lack of hesitation made it a real fooler. Good stuff.

Hi Rudy,
I’d love to try and work it out as I’m not too good on cops either. Are the magazines available anymore so I can learn the trick in its original context? Your version of the trick looks pretty cool, btw.

Nice Rudy! Totally got me on the ditch. Very natural. I was looking for a gaffed solution. Had to go to Apocalypse to see the light. Well done!

Gambler's cop is a practical way to remove cards from play. J.C. Wagner and Bill Malone both use it effectively. Then you can do the routine standing and go to your pocket to ditch as you retrieve the card wallet used to carry the cards initially. You get tremendous cover for the move as you toss the aces onto the table. You could toss them FU or, if FD, tell the specs to turn them over. Ending with blank faces might be good too. You could give away blank cards at the end, solving the problem of what to do with the change of color.

Alternately you could start with blank cards which then change to queens.
