I ordered myself a brick of Bikes, 6 blues and 6 red decks in the brick. I got them in this afternoon. All of the decks are black backs. [crazy] Not a big deal really, but still.

Yeah, $17.20 for twelve decks. So a $1.43 per pack

The black decks are usually more expensive and harder to acquire in bulk. I think you scored.

Jealous! I can't find a good deal on a brick of black backs and have been looking for a 4- or 12-pack for a bit 😃

I'll gladly trade you one of my unopened red/blue 12-bricks lol 😉

Black backed rider-backs are perfect for Michael Breggar's "Back to the Launching Pad" trick.

It's a sort of reverse "Out of This World" where your spectator has their eyes closed and sorts out the cards face up (to everyone's amusement, they apparently sort out the reds and blacks wrongly).  But then the twist: when you flip over the cards they are sorted between black-backed and red-backed cards.

It's brilliant!

Sorry, but I've already opened several packs. Blame RayJ [biggrin] (That's a joke, Ray!) because he is the one who said use those trash cards to practice with, so I opened several packs to practice my Elmsely Count and my Apex aces.

How do you know you have red and blue cards in the brick?[confused]

Last year, about this time, when I decided that I wanted to start doing magic, I walked over to my local wahlgreen's drugstore to buy some cards. They had a display rack that was almost empty of everything, except they had a four pack of two black decks and two red decks. My very first deck of cards I started practicing with was a black deck. I still have one of those black decks that has never been opened. the red decks are worn out and and so is the black deck I opened. I was saving the black deck because I haven't seen any more of them around. I guess I don't have to save it any more.

Aldo Colombini also had the idea of doing "Out of This World" with backs instead of faces, without letting on that's what's happening until the end, in "Out of Color" from The Close-Up Magic of Aldo Colombini.

I get the red/blue bricks from Costco -- and I've NEVER found other than 6 red/6 blue... interesting.

,

Tom, you should get a few of these while they're on sale.

https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/playing-cards/bicycle-gold-standard-playing-cards/

They are Bikes but printed on Bee stock. The traditional cut makes faros, especially tabled faros much easier.

And the box has the back on the back!
