Never owned a set of nesting coin boxes and looking at the Spellbinding set and the Viking set. Both come with the holders. About a $20 difference in price...

Is it a 'you get what you pay for' kinda thing, or are the Spellbinding boxes of good quality ?

Thanks in advance for any replies !

Good choice.  I had purchased another set, can't remember the maker and it was so bad, and with no holder, I returned it and got the Viking boxes.

Any particular routine you are going to use or one of your own making.

I know you've made the decision, but I'd also look at Nick Einhorn's nest of wallets, which looks a bit less "prop-like" in my view.

I second Nest of Wallets by Nick Einhorn!

Very nice, the routine is strong in my opinion, because it can use borrowed objects (e.g: ring, signed coin etc.)

Should give this a try.

Personally I think the old version with the "metal pie plate-looking discs" and the cloth bag inside was the most impressive.  You vanish a marked coin and it ends up instantly in a series of rubber-banded plates and finally is found in a cloth bag held tightly shut with a rubber band.  How can you get any better than that.  I know they don't look "normal", but then again, neither do the pretty brass boxes.

I don't know if the originals are still around, but here's one that is still marketed.
