Anyone working with Sucker Punch poker chips?
I cannot get the magnetic pair to slide.
Slightly improved traction when I dusted them with baby powder, and lick my fingers, but certainly not smooth for manipulation.

ahh... Robert...

Hello from North Phoenix … and I struggled with that sucker (pun intended) for a while.

I have a very workable solution, but I'm busy right now with work, and will have to look some stuff up.

Robert...

This might not be great news... I have my receipt and everything from the "Removable Transparent Adhesive Vinyl" I bought from "TopVinylFilms.com" -- and the website doesn't seem to render.

DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com says it's up -- but nothing shows.

On the other hand, the PayPal account I hit when paying on the site was "marylieu@cutmystickers.com"

I'd try hitting that email and explaining what you want.

The vinyl was on a roll with a grid on the backing material. I just cut out squares, then put it on the surfaces of the chips that touched. I'm not 100% certain where I got that info from, but wherever it was, they were talking about using it on coins even... although I wouldn't do that.

The chips slide around like nobody's business now.. work great!

"Removable Transparent Adhesive Vinyl"

Hi Dave,
The seller responded with this link
Office Depot Brand Adhesive Bookcover Rolls, 13 1/2" x 60", Clear
https://www.amazon.com/Office-Depot-Brand-Adhesive-Bookcover/dp/B009V7FUD0?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2

Could this be the same thing?
And you like the result?

Robert...

I'd guess if the seller told you that, I'd risk it for the price... and a few bucks less than what I paid.

The result was a world of difference with the chips.

I wonder why it was not addressed in the original manufacturing?

I always wondered that -- when they first came out there was a lot of chatter about it... Eric Jones certainly doesn't seem to have a problem with them sticking in the demos... but man, I was one that they would just LOCK... almost like a rough/smooth thing 😉

I was hesitant to put the film on mine, but I tried 2, and they were just smooth-smooth-smooth... so then went ahead and put the film on all the surfaces that would be touching that way. It's clear and you can't really tell which have the film on them by casual inspection.

The other option was to throw them in a box, since they weren't working [frown]

I figured how bad can it be if we have alternate stickers to put on them anyway - can just peel it off if it doesn't work.

I'm sure you'll find it obvious, but after putting the vinyl on, I took an Exacto knife with a new blade and went all the way around with it beveled, to leave none of the vinyl beyond the edge of the chip.

Hi Dave Campbell,

was your clear tape glossy or satin?

If glossy, it would seem to stand out from the other satin finish.

I am not going to spend $20 on a roll of matte adhesive for a $40 set of magic chips. Anyone want to sell a sheet from what you used with Sucker Punch?

Actually I had thought about that earlier but didn't mention it. I'd say satin.

and I thought what you posted was like $5... or maybe I didn't scroll far enough.

yes, the $5 link I had was for a store not in this area.
The other "office" stores don't carry anything like it.
The $20 tag was the next best thing I could find.

Here's something I've noticed . . .

If you store the blue and the red split chips together, for some reason the strength of the magnets gets stronger. So much stronger that it is close to impossible to split them when you need them as individual chips.

If you'll break them apart and never store them together, the strength of the magnets are reduced and they come apart like butter.

Give that a shot and see if that helps!
